1 cup unsalted butter softened (or ½ cup butter plus ½ cup vegetable oil) ▢1 cup packed light brown sugar ▢1 cup granulated sugar ▢2 eggs ▢3 cups all-purpose flour ▢1 teaspoon baking soda ▢1 teaspoon baking powder ▢1 teaspoon salt ▢1 teaspoon vanilla extract ▢2 cups chocolate chips semisweet, milk, dark or a mix
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet and set aside.
In a stand mixer (or with a hand mixer in a large bowl), cream butter and both sugars. Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and vanilla, and mix until incorporated.
Fold in chocolate chips. Use a medium cookie scoop to scoop dough, roll into balls and place onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 9–11 minutes.
Let cookies sit on the cookie sheet for a few minutes, then remove to a rack to cool.
